Welcome to TheFutureOfEmployment.com, a resource established to provide thought-provoking conversation starters on the pressing subjects of job displacement, job creation, and societal changes resulting from artificial intelligence (AI).
My Approach
The objective is to explore ideas that deserve more attention than theyve been getting. Naturally, that will change over time, but we’ll leave the articles live to build an archive that tracks the evolving landscape. To be clear “we” is Jonathan Friedman and two developers working on some novel AI. Our articles explore specific aspects of the evolving employment landscape influenced by AI.
Each piece will conclude with “PhD-style” citations, highlighting factual sources and providing very specific examples that illustrate “where we are on this transformative journey”.
For example, if you read an article discussing taxi drivers being put out of work due to automation, you can expect the latter part of the article to detail “who” has been affected so far, backed by reliable data. Our preferred sources are typically advisors from G20 nations, ensuring that our information is grounded in expert analysis and global perspectives. We heavily emphasize citations and substantiation from those who advise the G20.
Our Commitment
We maintain an unbiased stance with no political agenda. If a citation originates from a politician, we will rigorously fact-check the information to ensure accuracy and impartiality. If you find misinformation, let me know and I’ll get it corrected @jonathan@noknok.email (delete the extra @).
Goal
My hope is that the articles featured here will provide actionable insights to help orient a mind-set for what (IMO) will undoubtedly be some of the greatest changes in our lifetime, and possibly the most significant transformations our planet has ever experienced.
I’ll borrow borrow from a favourite scifi (“Matter”) and articulation of our humanoid future which brings personal clarity to me. From the advent of AI, humanity cleaved into three types of human:
The involved, the univolved and the unaware.
And so, my thought starter for you is…Which are you?
